Dr. Sujatha de Silva,

Chief Physician


Dr. Sujatha de Silva has been practicing traditional acupuncture since 1988 and has been an Ayurveda doctor since 1992. She has accompanied the entire development of European "Ayurveda tourism" with her special skills in various renowned hotels. We are all the more pleased to have won her as chief physician for the Amandroresort today. Her many years of experience in all areas of holistic traditional Ayurvedic medicine offers you as a spa guest the opportunity to be comprehensively advised, treated and strengthened. dr Sujatha speaks German and English. In the Amandroresort she is responsible for the entire process and the implementation of the Ayurveda treatments together with Dr. Shashi mainly responsible.

Dr. Shashi De Silva,

head physician

Dr. Shashi De Silva, comes from Balapitiya, Southern Province in Sri Lanka. After studying biology at Darmasoka College in Ambalangoda, she was selected as a bachelor's graduate to do a five-year course in Ayurveda and indigenous medicine at the Gampaha Wickramarachchi Ayurveda Institute. She received her degree as Ayurveda doctor for Ayurveda medicine and practice at the University of Kelaniya (Colombo).


She decided to expand her skills even further and did a diploma in Ayurvedic beauty care and another for the manufacture of Ayurvedic beauty products at the Institute of IICA.


As an intern, she worked with specialists at three different government hospitals, the Borella Ayurveda Teaching Hospital, the Bandaranaike Memorial Ayurvedic Research Institute, Galle Dissanayake Ayurveda Hospital and the Ambalangoda Ayurveda Hospital. Then she practiced in an orthopedic practice under the guidance of a local doctor. The qualification as Ayurvedic Medical Officer enables you to work under the registration of the Sri Lanka Ayurveda Medical Council. Dr. Shasi was trained in Korean acupuncture, certified by Kelaniya University (Colombo).

In the end, she decided to share her knowledge as a doctor in the tourism industry. She worked as an Ayurveda doctor in three different hotels in Sri Lanka, in the Siddhalepa Ayurvedic Medical Hospital Mount Lavinia, in the Roman Lake Ayurveda Resort, Ahungalla and in the Birdlake Ayurveda Hospital Hikkaduwa.

Since March 2020, Dr. Shashi works as our chief doctor at the Amandro Resort. Here she is primarily responsible for the entire process and implementation of the Ayurveda treatments and, together with her assistant doctor Dr. Madusha and the Ayurveda team offer our guests the medical-classic Pancha-Karma cure.

After four years of training at the Malewana Sri Gnanissara Ayurveda Medical College, Dr. Madusha received her final diploma as Ayurveda doctor from the Department of Ayurveda Nawinna (Colombo). She also completed her training as a Classical Ayurveda Pancha Karma Therapist and a Traditional Therapist for orthopedic problems at the Malewana Sri Gnanissara Ayurveda Medical College. This was followed by training in Chinese acupuncture, also at the Malewana Sri Gnanissara Ayurveda Medical College.


As it turned out over time that Dr. Madusha would find her future job at the Amandro Resort, she completed a hotel management training at the Colombo International Hotel School in Colombo as well as various German language courses at the Goethe Institute Colombo. Traveling to Germany enabled her to improve her language skills and got to know the mentality and life in Germany.


She completed her assistantship with Dr. Suranghe and Dr. Vimukthi de Zoyas. During this time she accompanied all of our guests together with the team of therapists through the Pancha-Karma cures in the Amandro Resort.

To this day, Dr. Madusha one of the main characters at Amandro Resort. She accompanies our guests through the Ayurveda cure and is available for all questions about the cure. In addition to coordinating all appointments related to the cure, she works as an assistant doctor and family doctor. She always has an open ear for your concerns and prepares everything for you and a pleasant stay.
